Puri, Oct 17: Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri announced new crowd control measures during the holy month of Kartika, starting October 18.
The administration has announced that devotees will only be allowed entry through the Singhadwar (Lions' Gate) and Paschima Dwar (West Gate). From that date, exiting through the Lions' Gate will be prohibited; however, visitors can leave through the other four gates to ensure a smooth darshan experience.

These measures aim to manage the large influx of devotees, particularly during Kartika, a time when thousands, including many elderly women known as Habisyalis, come to the shrine to offer prayers and witness special rituals.
SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee urged cooperation from all visitors to adhere to the new guidelines, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order during this spiritually significant period. Notably, these crowd control measures will not apply to temple servitors and staff.
