Puri, Oct 23: The sale of dried Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath on online platforms like Amazon and dedicated websites has become a subject of intense debate among the servitors (sevayats) and devotees of the Jagannath Temple.

Amazon currently lists options for purchasing dried Bhog packed on traditional palm leaves, with prices ranging from ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 depending on the number of Bhog types included. The seller, identified as Crystal Vision, claims to supply these offerings directly to customers. Meanwhile, a website named Shree Prasad advertises the sale of Abadha Mahaprasad, claiming it is sourced directly from the temple’s Rosaghara (kitchen).

These developments have raised questions about the authenticity and sanctity of Mahaprasad being sold through commercial channels, sparking concerns over religious and ethical implications within the temple community. Devotees and sevayats are closely monitoring the situation as discussions continue over the legitimacy of such practices.
