​​​​​​​Jharsuguda, Jan 17: The Jharsuguda police on Saturday held three miscreants for assaulting on-duty Journalists, who were covering an illegal fuel- trading in the industrial estate.

The incident took place near the IOCL depot at Malimunda in the town, under the Jharsuguda Airport police limits.

According to reports, a team of Journalists were covering illegal diesel theft from an oil tanker. Meanwhile, they were threatened and assaulted by a number of oil- peddlers.

Sustaining injuries in their bodies, three working journalists lodged complaint in this connection with the police.

On receiving information, the Sadar SDPO and the IIC rushed to the spot and managed to pick three key accused. Police also seized a vehicle from the scene that was reportedly loading illegally collected diesel and a few barrels filled with fuels.
