Bhubaneswar, March 15: BJD has issued notice to two suspended MLAs, Sanatan Mahakud and Arvind Mohapatra on Sunday.

With the communication, the party has asked the two Legislators to vote for the BJD supported candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled tomorrow.

The notice read, “ You have been placed under suspension from the party due to anti-party activities, but such suspension does not absolve you from constitutional obligations as a member elected on the party symbol.”

“You are therefore required to strictly comply with the party whip and cast your vote accordingly”, the notice added.

Both MLAs were elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly as candidates of the Biju Janata Dal. However,both were placed under suspension from the party due to anti-party activities.

Earlier, the BJD had issued a whip directing its members to vote in favour of the party's authorised candidates in the forthcoming election to the Rajya Sabha.
