Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: Even as the night chill continues to grip several parts of Odisha, day temperatures are steadily rising, indicating a gradual transition in weather conditions. According to weather experts, there is little possibility of any significant rise in night temperatures until the 26th.

While nights remain cold, daytime heat has begun to intensify, with temperatures already touching 34 degrees Celsius in several areas. The mercury is expected to climb further in the coming days. Experts predict that by the 15th or 16th, maximum temperatures may reach 36–37 degrees Celsius in Jharsuguda and around 35 degrees Celsius in Bhubaneswar.

Several interior pockets of the state continue to record low night temperatures. The minimum temperature has dipped below 10 degrees Celsius in G. Udayagiri, Semiliguda, and Phulbani. In coastal regions, night temperatures are hovering around 14 to 15 degrees Celsius.

As per the detailed forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, night temperatures across Odisha are likely to remain 2 to 4 degrees below normal until the 26th. In some areas, the mercury may dip up to 6 degrees below the seasonal average.

Meanwhile, daytime temperatures are trending upward. On Thursday, Paralakhemundi recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda registered 33.8 degrees, Bhubaneswar 33.7 degrees, and Dhenkanal 33 degrees Celsius.
