Speaking to the media after taking charge, DIG Singh highlighted his longstanding association with Koraput and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring peace and security in the region. He stated that priority would be given to combating Maoist activities, curbing illegal ganja smuggling, and maintaining law and order.
“While Maoist activities in the district are largely under control, special attention will be paid to strengthening security in the bordering areas of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh,” he said. “All necessary steps will be taken to make the region completely Maoist-free.”
He also stressed the need for tougher action against those involved in narcotics trafficking and other criminal activities. “Lawbreakers will face strict consequences, and we will implement effective measures to strengthen public trust in the police force,” he added.
DIG Singh urged citizens to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and contributing to the development of the region.
Following the official ceremony, Koraput SP and other senior police officials welcomed Singh and extended their best wishes.
