Berhampur, January 21: A youth turned critical after three family members were attacked in the Ganjam district of Odisha last night.

The identities of the victims have yet to be confirmed. Still, reports indicate that the attackers, believed to be from a nearby village, targeted the family due to a business rivalry.

According to sources, a group of miscreants arrived at the victims' home last night and began assaulting the youth. When his parents intervened to stop the attack, they were also assaulted by the perpetrators, who fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The three victims were rushed to Digapahandi hospital for treatment. However, as the youth's condition worsened, he was transferred to MKCG hospital in Berhampur for advanced care.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, with the possibility of business enmity being the motive behind the attack. Authorities are reviewing evidence and gathering more information to apprehend the suspects. The probe is underway.
