Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: In a bid to streamline the admission process and ensure the smooth start of classes, the Higher Education Department of Odisha has announced an early commencement of the admission process for Postgraduate (PG) courses for the academic session 2026–27. This proactive approach aims to facilitate timely academic progression across the state.

Students aspiring to pursue Postgraduate programs will be required to appear for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET). Eligible candidates can apply for admission by filling out the Common Application Form (CAF) through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal. The application window will be open from 27th February to 15th March, 2026.

The CPET for various PG subjects will be held between 27th April and 10th May, 2026. Admission into PG courses will be based strictly on the marks obtained in the CPET.

The Higher Education Department has set an ambitious target to start PG classes in all universities and colleges across Odisha by 10th July, 2026. This initiative is expected to ensure the timely completion of academic schedules, examinations, and the declaration of results, benefiting students throughout the state.
