Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: A thick blanket of dense fog covered Bhubaneswar and nearby Cuttack on Thursday morning, drastically reducing visibility to just 30 meters, causing significant disruptions in transportation and daily activities.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for dense fog across these regions, urging residents and travelers to remain vigilant. The reduced visibility made travel hazardous, particularly for those on the road. Goods-laden trucks on National Highway 16 were forced to stop at multiple points due to near-zero visibility, leading to heavy traffic congestion.

The fog caused major delays for daily commuters and heightened the risk of accidents, prompting authorities to issue safety advisories. They have urged the public to stay informed about weather conditions and exercise extra caution, especially during the early morning hours when fog conditions are expected to remain.
