Kalinga Studio reopens to public; ticket prices range from Rs20 to Rs295

Bhubaneswar, October 22: The long wait is finally over as the revamped Kalinga Studio has reopened to the public, drawing visitors eager to explore its attractions and filmmakers keen to resume shooting. Keeping public demand in mind, Kalinga Studios Limited officially opened the studio to visitors on Tuesday, October 20, during the festive season.

The reopening has generated considerable interest among the general public, film producers and tour operators, who had been waiting for the studio to open its doors. Visitors are now being admitted in scheduled time slots, with separate tickets for different attractions.

Kalinga Studio entry fee and attraction charges

According to the ticket rates displayed by the authorities, visitors must pay a mandatory entry fee of ₹20 per person to enter the studio. Additional charges apply for its three major attractions: the Snow Park, Movie Magic (3D movie experience) and Adventure Land (haunted house).

The ticket prices are as follows:

General entry: Rs20 per person

Snow Park: Rs150

Movie Magic (3D movie): Rs100

Adventure Land (haunted house): Rs25

Visitors can experience all three attractions for Rs275. Including the mandatory entry fee, the total cost of exploring the studio and enjoying all three attractions comes to ₹295 per person. Separate tickets must be purchased for each attraction.

Two daily visiting sessions

The studio is allowing visitors in two sessions each day. The first session runs from 10 am to 1:30 pm, while the second is scheduled from 2 pm to 5:30 pm.

Each session has seven time slots, making a total of 14 slots daily. Each slot lasts 25 minutes. The Snow Park operates strictly according to the designated time slots.

The authorities have also clarified that tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled or exchanged.

Over the first two days, a considerable number of visitors explored the studio and enjoyed the Snow Park, 3D movie experience and haunted house. However, some visitors expressed dissatisfaction with the ticket prices and urged the authorities to reconsider the rates.

First Odia Film begins shooting at revamped studio

Amid the public response to the reopening, the studio has also welcomed an important development for the Odia film industry. The shooting of the first Odia film at the redeveloped and renovated Kalinga Studio began on Thursday, October 22, following its inauguration.

The film, Bibaha Dot Com, is being produced by Aravinda Mishra under the banner of Waxman Entertainment and directed by Apu Kanungo.

The commencement of shooting marks a significant milestone for the revamped studio, which aims to serve both as a public entertainment destination and as a production hub for the Odia film industry.

While the reopening has attracted visitors, questions over ticket affordability remain. The studio's response to public feedback, along with its ability to draw more film productions, will be closely watched in the coming days.
