Kalahandi's 'Mission Akankhya' Launches Free Civil Services Coaching
In a significant move to support aspiring civil servants, the Kalahandi district administration in Odisha has launched a new initiative called 'Mission Akankhya' to provide free coaching for the civil services examination. The program is a partnership with the renowned coaching institute, Vision IAS.
Details of the Program
Under this new mission, a select group of 60 students will receive free, high-quality coaching each year. The selection will be based on a competitive process involving a written test and an interview. The Kalahandi district administration will provide the necessary infrastructure, while Vision IAS will be responsible for delivering the coaching in both classroom and online modes.
The registration for the program is set to begin on August 22, with the selection examination scheduled for September 21. The first batch of selected students will commence their coaching in Bhawanipatna in the first week of October.
A Boost for an Aspirational District
This initiative is particularly noteworthy as Kalahandi is one of the aspirational districts identified by NITI Aayog for focused development. The 'Mission Akankhya' program is a major step towards providing equal opportunities to talented students from the region, helping them compete on a national level. This is the first such venture by the institute in Odisha, following similar successful initiatives in other aspirational districts across the country.
