​​​​​​​Balangir, Jan 29: The Childline officials in Odisha’s Balangir district rescued an abandoned newborn girl, disposed of near a garbage dump on Thursday.

The incident took place at Dharabagarh village under the Saintala police limit today that raised eyebrows of the locals for the inhumane deeds of the parents.

According to sources, locals of the Dharabagarh village noticed an infant lying near a garbage dump and rescued the baby, that was a girl child. Meanwhile, the newborn was immediately shifted for medical care by the childline officials.

The baby is now under medical supervision in the Saintala Community Health Center (CHC) whose health condition is stated to be stable.

On being informed on the incident, the Saintala Police took stock of the matter and initiates an investigation to identify the offenders who discarded the innocent kanyaratna after delivery.

No clues regarding the incognito parents and the cruel accused, have yet been collected. Thus, the Childline officials and police are in sheer darkness to ascertain the inheritance of the newborn.
