Jewellery worth over ₹1 Lakh stolen from ornament shop in Balasore

Remuna, July 3: In a daring late-night burglary, jewellery worth over a lakh rupees was stolen from Pranakrishna Jewellery Works, situated near Nuagaon Chhak under Shilpanchal Police Station jurisdiction. The incident took place on Wednesday night.

According to police reports, around 1:40 AM, unidentified criminals forcibly broke into the jewellery shop by damaging the front shutter. They made away with more than 5 kilograms of silver ornaments and approximately 50 grams of gold jewellery that were kept for repair.

Upon receiving the complaint, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jitendra Mallik promptly arrived at the scene and began a thorough investigation. Shop owner Pranakrishna Kamila formally registered the complaint, confirming the loss of valuables exceeding one lakh rupees.

A case has been filed under FIR number 159/25, and the police continue to investigate the matter. No arrests have been made so far.
