Lucknow, Oct 18: In a strong message to Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that every inch of Pakistan’s territory is within the range of the BrahMos missile, adding that what happened during Operation Sindoor was “just a trailer.”

Speaking at the BrahMos Aerospace unit in Sarojini Nagar, where he and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles produced at the facility, Singh described the missile as a symbol of India’s growing strategic strength and confidence.

“BrahMos is not just a missile; it is a testament to India’s strategic self-reliance. From the Army to the Navy and Air Force, it has become a vital component of our defence power,” he said.

Emphasising India’s enhanced defence capabilities, Singh said they now act as a powerful deterrent.

“Every inch of Pakistan is within BrahMos’ range. What happened during Operation Sindoor was merely a glimpse. It reminded Pakistan that if India could create Pakistan, then... I need not say more,” he remarked.

The Defence Minister said Operation Sindoor demonstrated India’s preparedness and the success of its indigenous systems, adding that “victory has now become a habit for India.”

Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian defence forces targeted terrorist infrastructure and defence installations in Pakistan in May, following a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 people. India had deployed indigenously developed BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to strike Pakistan’s air bases during the operation.

Singh said the operation had boosted India’s confidence and proved the effectiveness of BrahMos to the world.

“The entire world now recognises India’s capability. BrahMos has strengthened our belief that India can turn its dreams into reality,” he added.

On the successful commencement of BrahMos production in Lucknow, Singh said the project reflects India’s growing confidence and capability in defence manufacturing.

“Lucknow is not just my parliamentary constituency; it resides in my heart. The city is emerging as a hub of technology and industry. The production of BrahMos here proves that a long-held dream has now become reality,” he said.
