New Delhi, May 8: In anticipation of the Special Investigation Team's (SIT) verdict on the bail plea of JD(S) MLA HD Revanna, the political landscape in Karnataka remains tense as the prime accused, JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, continues to evade authorities.
Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has been sought by the SIT in connection with a high-profile sex videos case. Despite his advocate's plea for a seven-day extension to appear before the SIT, Prajwal Revanna remains elusive since his disappearance from Karnataka, prompting heightened surveillance at airports.
The leaked sex videos, allegedly depicting Prajwal Revanna engaging in sexual abuse, have ignited public outrage and triggered a political showdown. As the state awaits Prajwal's return, the focus also shifts to HD Revanna, his father and JD(S) MLA, whose bail plea verdict is also imminent.
HD Revanna's arrest on kidnapping charges, filed by the son of one of the victims seen in the videos, further complicates the situation. JD(S) state President, HD Kumaraswamy, uncle of Prajwal Revanna, has criticized both the SIT and the Congress government, alleging political vendetta against his family.
Amidst the turmoil, HD Revanna's purported health complications led to a night of drama, with his brief hospitalization followed by a return to CID custody. Despite the ongoing investigation, HD Revanna has refused to cooperate or provide a statement, while the testimony of the allegedly kidnapped woman remains pending.
