Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: While cricket lovers in the country were devastated after the national cricket team lost to Australlia in the World Cup final yesterday, a youth of Odisha’s Jajpur district committed suicide after being unable to bear India’s defeat.
The deceased has been identified as Devranjan Das, son of Nilamani Das of Kulasahi village in Jari Panchayat under Binjharpur police limits in the same district.
Kulamani was found hanging in his neighbour's house on Monday morning. After being spotted, he was rushed to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
“Devranjan was suffering from some mental disorder and was under medication. Yesterday, he was watching the ODI final match at his neighbour’s house. However, he might have hanged himself to death after the India team lost to Australia”, said sources.
