Bhubaneswar, Sep 3: Mancheswar Police today detained Jagabandhu Chand, the husband of Archana Nag, on charges of attempted murder.

Nag, who is an accused in a high-profile sextortion case, has filed a police complaint alleging that Jagabandhu attempted to kill her.

The couple, who are currently separated with a pending divorce, were involved in an altercation at Nag's home in Satya Vihar on the night of August 30.

According to the complaint, Jagabandhu entered Nag's bedroom around 1:30 a.m. and tried to attack her with a knife. Nag's 19-year-old sister and 8-year-old son were also present during the incident.

Nag claims she immediately contacted the police. When police arrived, Jagabandhu allegedly became aggressive, assaulting her in their presence.

She also accused him of verbally abusing her, pulling her clothes, and physically assaulting her two sisters and son.

Police have detained Jagabandhu for questioning, and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
