Sambalpur, Dec 9: During the IT raids on the Sahu syndicates in Odisha, the sleuths have unearthed Rs 37.5 crore cash in Sambalpur on Saturday.
The huge amount was seized after being counted by the SBI Sambalpur officials, said sources.
Earlier, in the evening a big haul of cash from the Sudapada liquor manufacturing unit in Balangir was seized by the IT teams. Apart from it, at least Rs 250 crore was seized by the sleuths from different locations, associated with Sahu Group of Companies.
Worth mentioning, that simultaneous IT raids are underway in Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand in connection with the large scale of tax evasion by Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu and his associates who have CMFL manufacturing and retailing business.
