Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Income Tax Raids in Odisha, on the syndicates of a liquor manufacturer and trader is continuing yet for five consecutive days.
A big haul of cash recovered in Sambalpur, Balangir, Sundargarh and Bhubaneswar is yet to be counted by the bank officials.
As per the fresh information, raids are underway in the residence of Baunti Sahu, manager of Baldeo Sahu liquor manufacturing unit.
The Income Tax (I-T) department officials on Sunday also continued their raids on the premises linked to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu. Apart from it, a team of the IT department is reportedly continuing raid on the house of one Rajesh Sahu who is another manager of the Sahu distillery.
The two managers are grilled to unearth more treasuries from their possessions.
On the other hand, a team of Bank officials led by IT teams, continued with the counting of the seized money inside Bolangir State Bank of India (SBI) Main Branch. If reports are to be believed, more counting machines and manpower will be engaged in the counting of the seized money.
Out of the 176 bags seized in Bolangir, a total of Rs 140 crore was recovered and counted from 106 bags while another 70 bags of cash will be counted today.
On the other hand, the counting of seized money has been completed in Titlagarh and Sambalpur. Around Rs 11 crore was seized from Titlagarh while another Rs 37.50 crore was seized from Sambalpur.
