New Delhi, Nov 11: A day after a powerful explosion rocked Red Fort Metro Station area in Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to chair a high-level security review meeting at Kartavya Bhawan at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

The meeting will be attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Sadanand Vasant Date, while Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat will participate virtually.

Last night, Shah visited the site of the car explosion near Red Fort and met the injured at Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Hospital, assuring a thorough investigation into the blast that claimed nine lives and over 20 others injured.

Arriving at the blast site near Gate No. 1 of Lal Qila Metro Station around 9:45 p.m., Shah examined the wreckage — a mangled car reduced to a shell and encircled by forensic markers.

He spoke with Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and NIA officials at the site before heading to LNJP Hospital, where he spent nearly 30 minutes with the victims — including a 12-year-old boy suffering from burn injuries and a taxi driver whose vehicle had been consumed by the flames.

Earlier in the day, the Jammu and Kashmir Police dismantled an inter-state, transnational terror module linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind outfits, leading to the seizure of 2,900 kg of explosives, two assault rifles, pistols, timers, and other materials in Haryana’s Faridabad area near New Delhi. Police said seven individuals have been arrested so far.

Security has been heightened across Delhi-NCR, with NSG commandos deployed at critical locations.

Home Minister Shah instructed the NIA, IB, and Delhi Police Special Cell to coordinate closely, asserting that “no stone will be left unturned.”

High alerts have also been issued in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Mumbai, with security tightened around crowded public areas and religious sites.
