Jharsuguda, May 25: In a major crackdown on illegal IPL betting, police raided a rented house near Gandhi Chhak in Brajrajnagar area of Odisha’s Jharsuguda district and busted an online betting racket.
During the raid, police seized cash worth Rs 5,09,100 and arrested eight persons allegedly involved in the betting operation. Besides the cash, police also recovered two laptops, 41 mobile phones, an Innova Crysta and another car from the spot.
Police further froze Rs 3.70 lakh linked to online betting transactions. An investigation into the racket is underway.
