How the Top Four secured their Playoff positions
- Punjab Kings: Displayed strong form throughout the season, with consistent batting performances. They secured their playoff berth relatively early and sealed a top-two finish with a convincing win over Mumbai Indians in their penultimate league match.
- Royal Challengers Bengaluru: After a mixed start, RCB found significant momentum, particularly in away games. Their victory against Lucknow Super Giants in their final league match was crucial in clinching the second spot on the points table.
- Mumbai Indians: Experienced a remarkable mid-season resurgence, winning six consecutive matches at one stage to enter playoff contention. Despite a loss to Punjab Kings which denied them a top-two finish, their win over Delhi Capitals secured their spot in the Eliminator.
- Gujarat Titans: Were among the early qualifiers for the playoffs, showcasing strong performances in the initial and middle phases of the tournament. However, a couple of losses towards the end of their league campaign saw them slip out of the top two, placing them in the Eliminator.
With the playoff lineup now officially set, anticipation builds for a series of highly competitive knockout matches. The four qualified teams have shown their strong capabilities throughout the league stage, promising an exciting conclusion to the IPL 2025 season as they vie for the coveted trophy.
