Jaipur, April 10: Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is at its early days. But Rajasthan Royals (RR) are the only team to have won all their four matches they have played so far. They top the Pints Table as well and look invincible.
Of the four-matches, which RR have won so far, three matches were played at their home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium, here. The fourth one was held in Mumbai.
Though it is too early to predict if Sanju Samson led RR can enter the Play-offs this season again, or can win their second IPL title, but people back home are elated and have backed Samson & Co wholeheartedly this year, as they always do by default.
Rajasthan as an IPL franchise, have often excelled at their home matches. While RR are set to play their 5th match this season against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Wednesday evening, but prior to that they had a real surprise on Tuesday.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma felicitated Rajasthan Royals team for leading the IPL points table, so far. After the team reached the CM's residence on Tuesday night, they were warmly welcomed by honouring them with traditional Rajasthani turbans on their heads.
In return, RR team also honoured CM Sharma with a team's pink cap. He was also gifted a bat, a T-shirt and a ball with signatures of all Rajasthan Royals players. Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Rajasthan Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum and Vice President Rajeev Khanna were also present on the occasion.
Will Rajasthan Royals continue their winning streak and go all the way to win their second IPL Trophy this season? Remind you, under charismatic late Shane Warne's able leadership, Rajasthan Royals had won the initial edition of IPL in 2008.
Though they have reached the final and been to the playoffs on a few occasions later, but the trophy has been eluding them for 15 long seasons.
Can they repeat the 2008 magic and lift the IPL 2024 Trophy, that is bit too early to forecast. But in their first four outings, they have been extremely clinical and professionals. No doubt about that.
