Mumbai, May 3: Winning the toss, Mumbai Indians (MI) chose to field first against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, at the Wankhede Stadium, here on Friday.
Mumbai left out spin-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and brought in Naman Dhir.
Rohit Sharma was not included in the MI playing XI and was expected to play as an Impact Player.
MI are currently languishing at the lower-end of the at the Points Table like Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Both RCB and MI have six points from three wins - they are placed ninth on NRR.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders are second in the points table with 12 points from nine matches.
As per past records, MI have a commanding 23-9 lead in head-to-head matchups and have emerged victorious in nine out of the ten MI v KKR IPL matches at the Wankhede Stadium.
