Kolkata, April 29: Delhi Capitals (DC) won the toss and chose to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 47th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Eden Gardens, here on Monday.
Delhi brought back opener Prithvi Shaw into their playing XI.
Squads:
Delhi Capitals XI: Rishabh Pant (Captain and wicket-keeper), Prithvi Shaw, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel, Shai Hope, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Lizaad Williams, Khaleel Ahmed and Rasikh Dar.
DC Substitutes: Mukesh Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Pravin Dubey, Kumar Kushagra and Ricky Bhui.
Kolkata Knight Riders XI: Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Phil Salt (wicket-keeper), Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Mitchell Starc, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana.
KKR Substitutes: Suyash Sharma, Anukul Roy, Manish Pandey, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
For the record, KKR had won the previous match against DC at Visakhapatnam earlier this month.
Besides, KKR are placed second in the points table with five wins in eight matches while DC are sitting fifth with 10 points from 10 matches.
Kolkata and Delhi have met 32 times in the IPL so far with KKR winning 16 times and DC winning 15. One game ended with no result.
Both sides would be keen to win and get those two vital points to make their journey to the play-offs more smooth and avoid last moment tensions. (With IANS support)
