​​​​​​​Hyderabad, Oct 28: With the Cyclone Montha that’s feared to land fall on the Andhra coast, the Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday restricted heavy vehicles on the state’s national highways.

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) announced restrictions on roads in the districts affected by the cyclone.

The APSDMA officials said Heavy vehicles will not be allowed on national highways in Andhra Pradesh's coastal districts from 7 pm today in view of severe cyclone Montha in the Bay of Bengal.

The restriction for the heavy vehicles will remain in force till futher order, the authorities said in its notifications.

Meanwhile, the state’s special relief commission and APSDMA authorities urged people should avoid travelling unless absolutely necessary as the cyclone Montha is feared wreak fury on the Andhra coastal line during the landfall, expected this night.
