Ahmedabad, May 10: Winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opted to bowl first against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, here on Friday.
While injury-hit CSK would be keen for a play-off berth, for GT it would be a game of survival. If they lose, they would join Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) to be out of the contention for a play-off berth.
CSK, sitting fourth in the points table, are heading into this game after a comfortable win against Punjab Kings at Dharamsala while GT, that are rooted at the bottom of the table, lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last match.
Chennai and Gujarat locked horns six times in the IPL, with both teams sharing an equal number of wins.
Squads:
Gujarat Titans XI: Shubman Gill (Captain), Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, David Miller, Matthew Wade (wicket-keeper), Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma and Kartik Tyagi.
