Bhadrak, November 22: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday led a grand “Ekta Padayatra” (Unity March) in Dhamnagar of Bhadrak district to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.

The march, reflecting the spirit of unity and integration that Patel stood for, drew participation of people from different walks of life.

The event began with a solemn ceremony where the Union Minister paid rich tributes to Sardar Patel by lighting a ceremonial lamp and offering floral respects before Patel’s portrait.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Pradhan said, “Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India continues to inspire every generation. His firm resolve and commitment helped shape the nation we cherish today.”

“Sardar Patel was the true architect of modern India. His sacrifice in keeping the country, including Odisha, united on the thread of unity is unparalleled. His extraordinary leadership stitched together the fabric of this great nation,” said Pradhan.

The Minister urged people, particularly the younger generation to take pledge to uphold the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and continue working towards national integration.

Higher Education and Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabasnhi Suraj, Bhadrak MP Avimanyu Sethi, Balasore MLA Manas Dutta among others participated in the padayatra.
