Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: In a festive bonanza ahead of Diwali, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. With this revision, the DA will increase from the existing 55% to 58%.

The enhanced allowance will be implemented with retrospective effect from July 1, 2025, and will be paid in cash along with the October salary.

Alongside this, the state government has also approved a corresponding 3% hike in Dearness Relief (TI) for pensioners. They will receive the revised amount with their October pension.

This move is expected to benefit approximately 8.5 lakh government employees and pensioners across Odisha.

The decision comes as a goodwill gesture from the state government to support its workforce and retirees during the festive season.
