International Day of Yoga 2025: 11k Indian Navy personnel & families practice yoga aboard ships

Visakhapatnam, June 21: On occasion of 11th International Day of Yoga 2025, around 11,000 Eastern Naval Command personnel along with their family members performed yoga on-board Indian Navy ships and across the Visakhapatnam coastline.

The Eastern Naval Command is honored to collaborate with YogAndhra 2025, an initiative led by the Ministry of Ayush and the Andhra Pradesh Government, celebrating the International Day of Yoga in Visakhapatnam, said an official statement from the Indian Navy.

In solidarity with the citizens of Vizag and promoting holistic well-being, more than 11,000 naval personnel and their families from the Eastern Naval Command will join the grand morning yoga session with Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, the statement added.

The Eastern Fleet's frontline ships and two Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessels will be stationed near RK Beach in Visakhapatnam. These ships, visible against the city's skyline, represent the Indian Navy's support for the vision of "Yoga for One Earth, One Health."

This coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the main event of the 11th International Day of Yoga at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, where he performed the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) with over three lakh people.

PM Modi joined celebrations, calling yoga a timeless gift that connects people across all ages and boundaries, promoting health and unity. 

The event was held by the beautiful Visakhapatnam coastline, with Indian Navy ships nearby, adding to the event's significance.
