Mercury climbs steadily across districts alongside dry morning conditions

Citizens across the state should prepare for warmer days ahead. Forecasts indicate a steady climb in day temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius over the next twenty-four hours. Once this initial jump occurs, thermometer readings will likely stabilize without any dramatic shifts for the rest of the week. Currently, Jharsuguda holds the record for the highest maximum heat, touching a scorching 37.0°C. Meanwhile, night conditions remain relatively stable, with no major changes expected in minimum temperatures for the upcoming six to seven days. Rourkela recently recorded a chilly 12.6°C, while the hill station of G. Udayagiri saw the lowest drop at 8.7°C.

Heat Levels Climbing Gradually

Raincoats and umbrellas can stay in the closet for now. Meteorological updates confirm dry conditions will dominate the entire region for the next seven days. Authorities have issued absolutely no severe warnings for this upcoming week, ensuring a calm but increasingly warm environment.

Coastal Fog and Clear Skies

Morning commuters in specific coastal pockets need to drive cautiously. Shallow to moderate fog is highly likely to roll in during the early hours of March 1st. Districts expected to face these misty mornings include Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur. In fact, dense fog recently reduced visibility to under 200 meters in Balasore and Chandbali, making early travel difficult.

Twin City Heat Outlook

Residents in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will experience slightly misty mornings for the next couple of days, followed by clear, sunny skies. Heat levels in the capital city will steadily climb, pushing maximums from 35°C up to a toasty 37°C by the end of the week. Cuttack will mirror this warming trend, with daytime highs increasing from 33°C to 35°C. Minimum night temperatures in both cities will also rise slightly, making evenings feel noticeably warmer as the week progresses. Overall, expect a dry, progressively hotter week across the twin cities and the broader state.
