Nuapada, Nov 15: BJD lost the Nuapada stronghold for its unethical electioneering, said the Nuapada MLA elect Jay Dholakia on Saturday.

During his maiden interaction with News7, Dholakia said that Nuapada was once upon a time a bastion of the Biju Janata Dal(BJD). However, BJD could not keep it up rather lost it for good in the recently concluded Nuapada byelection. The ace regional party, for its faulty dynamics and inadequate election management fell drastically, even much below the Congress in the bypoll.

Indicating towards, BJD’s nominee Snehangini Chhuria, who was fielded in the bypoll, Dholakia said, the Party descended to the third position for nominating an outsider, lagging behind the viable aspirants.

A befitting candidate from the Nuapada soil could have fetched more votes for BJD, Dholakia added.

Recalling his departed father Rajendra Dholakia & his selfless service, Jay said Raju Bhai was famous for his volunteerism. His affiliation and acquaintances with the BJD, brought good days for the people of Nuapada as he resolved vital problems of the locality during his tenure.

This legacy and signature of the BJD could have been encashed during the bypoll with a local face, in the fray, Dholakia added.
