Bhubaneswar, March 16: Odisha BJP on Monday celebrated its resounding victory in the Rajya Sabha election, concluded in the evening.

Marking the win of Odisha BJP nominees, namely state President Manmohan Samal & Sujeet Kumar with the quasi-party candidate Dilip Ray phenomenal, supporters celebrated the tripartite victory in a magnificent way.

The celebration began from the Odisha Assembly after the Electoral Officer announced the astounding scores of the two BJP faces Samal and Kumar. Later, the BJP supporters along with the Legislators cheered with the unprecedented success of Dilip Ray, the BJP backed candidate who was projected for the high-stakes fourth coveted seat. Ray won the tough battle narrowly with the second preference votes, defeating his fore contestant Dr Datteswar Mishra, a BJD-Congress consensus candidate. Following this, slogans favoring the Odisha BJP, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Manmohan Samal & Sujeet Kumar reverberated the environment. Apart from it, supporters and peers of industrialist Dilip Ray also stirred the surrounding with Jay-jay chants flattering the veteran leader on his success. Later on, the celebration passed on up to the Mayfair Hotel where thousands of fans of Ray along with crowds of BJP activists accorded a rousing welcome to Ray, offering him bouquets and scarf.

Similarly, the joyous occasion was marked at the BJP state headquarters in the evening wherein the three victorious leaders were warmly received with flowery gifts and embraces. Meanwhile, CM Mohan Majhi welcomed the three winners and wished their stupendous representation in the Rajya Sabha for the wellbeing of the state and its 4.5 crore people.
