Industry leaders optimistic as PM Modi-led new government sets sights on 'Vision@2047'

New Delhi, June 8: With Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi poised to form the next government, industry leaders conveyed their warmest congratulations, expressing hopes for stability, consistency, and effective governance to propel the country towards 'Vision@2047'.
Scheduled to take oath as Prime Minister for the third time, along with his Council of Ministers, at 7.15 p.m. on Sunday, PM-elect Modi's impending leadership transition has stirred anticipation among various sectors.
Lt Gen SP Kochhar, DG of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), remarked that the new government is anticipated to navigate the next phase of growth, emphasizing the importance of policy continuity and reforms. Kochhar highlighted the government's past initiatives, particularly in the telecom sector, and expressed eagerness to collaborate towards building a digital society aligned with national aspirations.
Atul Arya, chief energy strategist at S&P Global Commodity Insights, underscored the significance of India's economic growth, particularly in the realm of energy transition encompassing oil, gas, and renewables. He noted the potential for new investment opportunities under a government committed to policy consistency.
Anku Jain, Managing Director of MediaTek India, praised the government's proactive stance in promoting innovative technologies for societal and economic advancement, reflecting on the positive impact of such initiatives.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen AK Bhatt (retd), Director General of the Indian Space Association (ISpA), hailed the government's move to enable private sector participation in the space industry, viewing it as a pivotal step towards enhancing India's space economy and fostering innovation.
The electronics manufacturing industry, too, anticipates continued momentum under the new government. A. Gururaj, Managing Director of Optiemus Electronics, lauded previous government initiatives such as Production Linked Incentives (PLI) and taxation benefits, emphasizing the potential for India to establish itself as a global hub for electronics manufacturing, including semiconductors.
As the Narendra Modi-led government embarks on its new term, industry stakeholders remain optimistic about the opportunities and advancements that lie ahead, aligning with the overarching goal of 'Vision@2047'.
