Delhi, December 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended greetings to all Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel on the occasion of the Raising Day of the SSB, praising the force for its unwavering dedication towards the nation’s safety.

The SSB was set up in early 1963 in the wake of the India-China conflict to inculcate feelings of national belonging in the border population and develop their capabilities for resistance through a continuous process of motivation, training, development, welfare programmes and activities in north Assam, north Bengal, hills of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh.

The Prime Minister said that the SSB’s unwavering dedication reflects the highest traditions of service and that their sense of duty remains a strong pillar of the nation’s safety. He noted that from challenging terrains to demanding operational conditions, the SSB stands ever vigilant.

The Prime Minister wrote on X, “On the Raising Day of the Sashastra Seema Bal, I extend my greetings to all personnel associated with this force. SSB’s unwavering dedication reflects the highest traditions of service. Their sense of duty remains a strong pillar of our nation’s safety.
