New Delhi, May 12: Air Marshal A.K. Bharti on Monday mainained that Operation Sindoor was solely aimed at neutralizing terrorist threats and not directed at the Pakistan military or civilian population.
“Our fight is against terrorists—not against the Pakistan military or Pakistani civilians. Our targeting has been precise and deliberate,” Bharti stated during a press briefing.
He underscored the effectiveness of the Indian Armed Forces, pointing to the success of targeted strikes carried out during the operation.
“Our counter-systems and air defence personnel are well-trained and fully capable. India’s indigenous defence capabilities have proven their worth. Whatever the technological threat, we are ready to respond—and the results speak for themselves,” he said.
Bharti also spoke on the changing nature of warfare, noting that future conflicts will look very different from past battles.
“This was a different kind of warfare, and such scenarios are likely to recur. If another conflict arises—God forbid—it will not resemble this one. It’s a cat-and-mouse game, and staying ahead of the adversary is critical,” he explained.
Responding to a question about whether India had struck the Kirana Hills, Bharti replied with a hint of irony, “Thank you for informing us that Kirana Hills hosts a nuclear installation—we were unaware. But to clarify, we have not targeted Kirana Hills, wherever that may be.”
