Paradip, Feb 23: In a tragic incident, an unidentified woman died after allegedly falling from the terrace of a four-storey building at Tarinigada in Paradip on Sunday.

According to sources, the woman sustained severe head injuries after falling from the rooftop of the under-construction building. During the fall, her dress reportedly got caught in a gas pipeline fixed along the exterior wall and was found hanging.

On receiving information, police from Paradip Adarsha Police Station rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. A probe has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.

Sources said nine young men are currently residing in one of the rooms of the building, which is still under construction. However, it remains unclear why the woman had gone to the rooftop and how the incident occurred.

Police found a pair of slippers, a mosquito coil, cigarettes and empty khaini sachets on the terrace. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established, and further investigation is underway.
