Bhubaneswar, December 30: In a bid to ensure smooth and secure New Year celebrations, Puri Police have significantly strengthened security arrangements, anticipating a massive influx of both devotees and tourists into the holy city.

Pratik Singh, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Puri, confirmed that over 70 platoons of police personnel will be strategically deployed at various high-traffic locations throughout Puri. The primary focus of this heightened security will be around the Shree Jagannath Temple, the popular Puri Sea Beach, and the major thoroughfares leading into the city, all of which are expected to witness heavy crowds. This extensive deployment is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors, regulate crowds, and maintain law and order during the festivities.

The security measures will include well-coordinated crowd control efforts, with officers trained specifically for managing large gatherings and emergencies. Disaster response teams are also on standby, ready to respond to any unforeseen emergencies or incidents. The Puri administration has taken proactive steps to ensure that the New Year celebrations are peaceful and enjoyable for all attendees.

As part of the comprehensive security plan, the police have introduced detailed traffic management protocols aimed at preventing congestion and ensuring the smooth flow of vehicles. Designated parking zones have been established at key points in the city, while specific routes have been earmarked for easier access to major event locations, including the temple and beach.

Visitors to Puri are strongly advised to follow all traffic advisories and cooperate with law enforcement personnel.
