Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: The Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav continues to play a vital role in uniting artists and audiences, creating a sense of harmony while promoting the rich cultural heritage of Odisha. This festival serves as a platform to highlight the power of art and culture, fostering peace and encouraging cultural exchange.

During the inaugural ceremony of the festival, the Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, emphasized the importance of such events in preserving and promoting the state's traditions. As part of the celebration, he honored the renowned theatre artist Ananta Mahapatra with the prestigious 'Buddha Samman' for his significant contributions to the field of drama.

Furthermore, Lalit Mansingh, a distinguished former Indian diplomat and an important figure in Indian performing arts, was conferred with the 'Swarn Smarak Samman' for his invaluable work in the cultural sector.

At the concluding phase of the festival, cultural performances were enjoyed by the visitors. Among the notable dignitaries present were Minister of Law, Public Works, and Excise, Prithviraj Harichandan, and Dr. Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya, IAS, Secretary, Odia Language Literature & Culture Department. The Secretary of Odisha Dance Academy, Dr. Aruna Mohanty, also welcomed the Governor to the event, marking a successful and vibrant cultural celebration.
