The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued an official notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 02/2024.
Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through www.afcat.cdac.in.
The application process is set to commence on May 30 and will conclude on June 28, 2024.

Total Vacancies: 304 positions
AFCAT Entry
Flying Branch: Men (SSC) - 18 posts, Women (SSC) - 11 posts
Ground Duty (Technical Branch): Men (SSC) - 124 posts, Women (SSC) - 32 posts
Non-Technical Branch: Men (SSC) - 95 posts, Women (SSC) - 24 posts
NCC Special Entry: Flying Branch - 10% of seats (both men and women)
Educational Qualifications
Flying Branch: 12th class with minimum 50% marks, along with Physics and Maths. Graduation with minimum 60% marks in any discipline or BTech degree with at least 60% marks.
Ground Duty: 12th with Physics and Maths (50% marks) and graduate degree with minimum 60% marks in engineering or technology.
Age Limit
Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years
Ground Duty: 20 to 26 years (as of July 1, 2025)
Selection Process
The selection process involves a written test, Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview, and medical examination. The AFCAT written exam carries 300 marks with 100 questions to be answered in two hours. Subjects include general awareness, verbal ability in English, numerical ability, reasoning, and military aptitude. Negative marking applies, with one mark deducted for each wrong answer. Successful candidates will be eligible for courses starting in July 2025 and will receive a Short Service Commission (SSC).
