Indian women secure historic cricket triumph at Lord's ground

Indian women's cricket team secured a monumental 270-run victory over England at Lord's on Monday, marking the historic first-ever Women's Test at the iconic venue. Harmanpreet Kaur led her squad to absolute dominance, outclassing the hosts in batting, bowling, and fielding. Lord's took 142 years to host its first women's red-ball international, making this emphatic win an unforgettable milestone for the global game.

Yastika Bhatia entered the history books as the first woman to score a Test century at this legendary ground. Her stellar second-innings performance powered the visitors to a declaration at 341 for 7, setting England a daunting target of 457 runs. Opening batter Smriti Mandhana gave excellent support with a fluent 70, while Richa Ghosh contributed a quick, unbeaten 50 to maintain intense pressure on the home team.

Indian Bowlers Dismantle English Lineup

Defending the huge target on the fourth day, the visiting bowlers executed their plans perfectly to dismiss England for a mere 186 runs. All-rounder Deepti Sharma led the final-day charge by taking four crucial wickets, ensuring a comfortable finish. Earlier in the game, debutant fast bowler Kranti Gaud grabbed headlines by claiming a brilliant five-wicket haul in the first innings, which restricted England to 170 after India posted 285.

England never recovered from early setbacks during their difficult run chase.
