Former Odisha Minister’s son arrested in land fraud case

Bhubaneswar, August 28: Nayapalli Police on Friday arrested Ajit Sahu, son of former Odisha Minister Nrusingha Sahu in a cheating case.

According to reports, Ajit was arrested from Nuasahi Apartment in Nayapalli on the strength of a warrant issued in the case. The alleged cheating case was filed by Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar.

Ajit was accused of allegedly cheating the MP by promising to provide land.

The case dates back to 2024, after a complaint was lodged against Ajit at Tughlaq Road police station in Delhi. Ajit defied multiple summons issued by the Patiala House Court to appear before it.

Later, the Court declare him as an absconder and subsequently issued a warrant against him.

Acting on the warrant, Nayapalli Police took him into custody from his Nuasahi apartment in Bhubaneswar.
