Bhubaneswar, February 19:The Kanjia Mine in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district treasures about 1.5 ton of gold depository.

The glaring news surprised the Odisha people and the government as well after the G2 survey report of the Geological Survey of India.

According to reports, there is around one and a half tons of gold  repository in the Kanjia gold mine.

As per the primary assessment, 1,462 kilograms and 730 grams of gold reserve is traced in at the Madansahi site following the G2 level survey conducted by the Geological Survey of India recently.

The Odisha Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena acknoledged it with a written reply in the Odisha State Assembly on Thursday.

According to the statement presented on the floor, the gold-bearing ore has also been traced in the Adas-Rampalli area in the Deogarh district and Gopur-Jaldihi area of Keonjhar district. The exact repository of raw gold is yet to be assessed as exploration activities are currently underway in those mines.

Additionally, preliminary explorations carried out by the Odisha Mining Corporation at various stages have indicated the presence of gold deposits in several other districts across the state.
