Cuttack, Dec 12: An Upper Primary(UP)School Headmistress in Cuttack was suspended on Friday for allegedly carrying Mid Day Meal(MDM) rice to home.

The teacher has been identified as Rina Dei, HM of Chhagaon UP School under the Athagarh Sub-division.

According to reports, the HM’s car was intercepted by the locals while carrying MDM rice to her home. Following this, the matter was reported to the BEO.

Acting on it, the DEO put the HM under suspension while 4.5 quintal rice was recovered from the car.

During enquiry, the HM could not substantiate on why the MDM rice was being taken to her home. However, she clarified, the rice stock register was at her home that she could not present it on spot.

The BRCC & CRCC were assigned for further enquiry into the matter.
