New Delhi, Sep 4: India and Singapore on Thursday announced a new roadmap to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong emphasized the importance of closer ties in an increasingly volatile geopolitical landscape.
During wide-ranging discussions in New Delhi, the two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and agreed to boost collaboration in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and other digital domains.
“India-Singapore relations go far beyond diplomacy,” said Modi, highlighting shared values and mutual interests as the foundation of the partnership.
He also stressed the need for united efforts against terrorism, calling it a collective responsibility for all nations that uphold humanity.
Wong, who arrived in India on Tuesday, echoed the sentiment, stating that in a world marked by uncertainty, the India-Singapore partnership is more vital than ever.
Several agreements were signed following the talks, including a key pact between the Reserve Bank of India and the Monetary Authority of Singapore focused on digital asset innovation.
