​​​​​​​Koraput, Oct 25: In a tragic incident, a youth was electrocuted and his girlfriend sustained injuries after the couple came in contact with a live electric wires set up for wild animal hunting in Semiliguda area of Odisha’s Koraput district late last night.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Badanayak, a resident of Ghataguda village in Dudhari panchayat.

As per reports, the incident took place near a coffee in Aligan village in Pakjhola panchayat under Semiliguda police limits when the couple had gone to the area to meet each other and came in contact with live electric wires reportedly set up for wild animal hunting.

While Sanjay died on the spot, the young woman sustained injuries.

Upon getting the information, Semiliguda police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.

The cops also seized the body of the deceased and sent it to Koraput for postmortem.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
