Bhubaneswar, October 25: The Odisha government has issued a cyclone alert for Paradip in light of the approaching storm, Montha.

Authorities, including the Fisheries Department and local police, have issued strong warnings to fishermen, advising them to refrain from venturing into the sea. Alerts have been disseminated via miking in key areas, including Neheru Bangala Fishing Harbour, Atharabanki, Shandakuda, Nua Bazaar, and Chaumuhani.

Fishermen are urged to stay on land until at least October 29. Those already out at sea are instructed to return to shore immediately for their safety.

Meanwhile, the district administration has activated its disaster management protocols and is coordinating efforts to ensure the safety of residents in affected regions.

The state government has also demonstrated its readiness, holding a high-level meeting to assess and prepare for the potential impacts of the cyclone.
