Bhubaneswar, February 20: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday unveiled Rs 3.10 Lakh Crore Budget for 2026-27. At least 16 new initiatives have been introduced in the annual budget.

Majhi, who holds the Finance portfolio, has presented a Rs 3.10 lakh crore State budget for the financial year 2026-27, outlining the Government’s roadmap for growth, welfare, and infrastructure expansion.

The budget aims to focus on strengthening social sector spending, boosting capital investment, and accelerating economic development across key sectors.

The 16 new initiatives are VB-G RAM G, Samruddha Anganwadi Yojana, 100 Smart Farm Markets (Model Mandis), Mukhyamantri Kanya Samangal Yojana, Chief Minister Smart City Mission, World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan, rare Earth Corridor, State Institute for Transformative Initiatives-Odisha (SITI-Odisha), Connectivity to unconnected habitations, Jagannath Interpretation Centre at Puri, World Tourism Centre (WTC) at Puri, State AI Mission, Tourism Land Bank Scheme, DALKHAI, Chief Minister’s Economic Advisory Council and Fit odisha Mission.

While Rs 5,575 crore has been allocated for VB-G RAM G, Rs 635 crore has been allocated for Samruddha Anganwadi Yojana.

“I am proposing an outlay of Rs.5,575 crore under the scheme “Viksit Bharat –Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)” for providing 125 days of employment guarantee for the rural household strengthening their income,” said the Chief Minister.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister also proposed Rs 1,500 crore under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to complete the incomplete works and till finalisation of all formalities under “VB G-RAM-G”.

Similarly, Rs 100 crore has been allocated for 100 Smart Farm Markets (Model Mandis), while a budgetary allocation of Rs 100 crore has been made for Chief Minister Smart City Mission, Rs 240 crore for World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan, Rs 10 crore for Rare Earth Corridor, Rs 1000 crore for Connectivity to unconnected habitations, Rs 100 crore for World Tourism Centre (WTC) at Puri, Rs 23 crore for State AI Mission, Rs 150 crore for Tourism Land Bank Scheme, Rs 220 crore for Dignified Access to Livelihood, Knowledge, Health and Allied Infrastructure (DALKHAI) and Rs 10 crore Fit India Mission, respectively.
