Ramallah [Palestine], June 14:  Amid rising tensions in West Asia, India’s Representative Office in Ramallah has issued an advisory urging Indian nationals in Palestine to remain alert and follow local safety guidelines. The advisory follows recent military developments involving Israel and Iran.

“In view of the current situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Palestine are requested to remain vigilant and observe locally advised safety and emergency procedures. Please exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement,” the advisory stated in a post on X. It also provided an emergency contact number: +970592916418, and an email: [email protected].

The advisory comes as Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a major military offensive targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the operation, describing it as a necessary step to counter what he called an “existential threat” from Iran. He claimed Iran has stockpiled enough enriched uranium for nine nuclear weapons and accused Tehran of advancing toward weaponization.

“Moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion... The mission will continue for as many days as it takes to remove this threat,” Netanyahu declared.

In response, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the Israeli strikes, warning of severe consequences. “The Zionist regime has made a grave mistake. Our armed forces are ready, and Iran will respond with strength,” Khamenei posted on X. He further stated that Iran would not let Israel's actions go unpunished, vowing to make life "bitter" for the Israeli state.

The situation remains volatile, and Indian authorities have assured their citizens in the region of continued support and guidance.
