New Delhi, May 3: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has wished the students appearing for the NEET UG exam the very best and urged them to stay calm, focused, and give their best efforts. He emphasized the values of the medical profession, highlighting compassion, service, and continuous learning.
In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Pradhan wrote: "Best wishes to all students taking the NEET UG examination today. Stay calm, focused, and give your best." He continued, "The medical profession stands for compassion, service, and a lifelong commitment to learning. Wishing every aspirant the clarity and confidence to take a meaningful step towards this path."
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is scheduled to take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, with more than 22.79 lakh candidates registered for the exam. The examination will be held at over 5,400 centres across India and abroad.
Special accommodations have been made for candidates with disabilities, including extra time. In total, more than 2 lakh personnel have been deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam. According to the NTA, “The NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Candidates with disabilities will be allowed compensatory time and can complete their examination by 6:00 PM.”
The exam is one of the largest entrance tests in the world, with the NTA ensuring all necessary measures are in place for a smooth examination process.
In Kanyakumari, nearly 5,000 candidates are appearing for the exam at 10 centres. Despite the intense heat, students were seen waiting outside the venues, eagerly preparing for their exam.
